NetCastPL4.0 Partners Visit Zanardi Fonderie S.p.A.

On 17 July 2026, representatives of the NetCastPL4.0 project partners visited Zanardi Fonderie S.p.A. in Minerbe, Italy. The project delegation included Giuliano Angella from CNR-ICMATE, Kalle Jalava from Aalto University, and Marcin Górny and Magdalena Kawalec from AGH University of Krakow. The visitors were welcomed by the Zanardi Fonderie team, including Riccardo Andrea Zanardi, Vice President and CEO, and Franco Zanardi, Honorary Chairman of the company.

The meeting focused on opportunities for further scientific and industrial cooperation. Zanardi Fonderie presented its cast iron production capabilities and potential research interests, while the NetCastPL4.0 partners discussed the project’s latest results concerning innovative cast irons. The programme also included a tour of the production plant, followed by a technical discussion on possible areas of future collaboration.

Zanardi Fonderie specialises in spheroidal graphite iron, austempered ductile iron and isothermal ductile iron. The company is a member of SINFONET – Smart and INnovative FOundry NETwork, which is also a Network Partner of NetCastPL4.0. The visit strengthened the links between the project’s research partners and the European foundry industry, providing a valuable basis for future joint initiatives.
