First public presentation of NetCastPL4.0 during international conference – SPCI-XIII 2024
The NetCastPL4.0 was presented to international public during XIII International Symposium on the Science and Processing of Cast Iron – SPCI-XIII, which took place in Krakow on June 23-26, 2024. The Symposium was organized by AGH University of Kraków Faculty of Foundry Engineering.
The SPCI Symposiums (https://spci.agh.edu.pl/)is the opportunity for the World Cast Iron Community to meet and discuss cast iron topics. Thanks to the extensive research efforts made over years, cast iron can still constitute a material that has a wide range of attractive combinations of strength, ductility, toughness, wear resistance, and machinability. Cast iron is also recognized as a material for lightweight castings with good mechanical and utility properties at relatively low cost and with an important ecological perspective.
The Symposium gathered around 80 participants representing 17 countries: Japan, China, USA, Brazil, Italy, Finland, Romania, France, Slovakia, Germany, Sweeden, Ukraine, Austria, Norway, Swiss and Poland, who had the opportunity to discuss 31 papers in six thematic sessions. Presentations covered topics related to cast iron issues such as nucleation and crystal growth, phase transformations, processing, properties, alloying, metallurgical quality, inoculation, thermal analysis, molding materials, defects, characterization, thermal and physical properties.
During SPCI-XIII representatives of project’s partners met to discuss and promote the project.
