Marcin Górny

Dean of the Faculty of Foundry Engineering at AGH University of Krakow, Professor of Materials Science. Fellow of the NATO Advanced Fellowships Programme, Member of the European Cast Iron Group, Awarded the British Foundry Medal by the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers (UK), Member of the Council and College of Materials Engineering at AGH University. Author of more than 100 scientific papers, coordinator of two research projects financed by Polish National Science Centre respecting innovative thin-walled ductile and compacted graphite iron castings. He has participated in more than 20 industrial and scientific projects.

Scientific activities are focused on various areas including the materials science and production of thin-walled castings, manufacturing and properties of metal matrix composites, solidification and structure formation of cast iron and aluminum alloys. Science and processing of grain refining, modification and inoculation. Impact of cooling rates on the structure and mechanical properties of ductile iron, vermicular iron, and non-ferrous alloys, kinetics of phase transformations and thermal stability of ADI castings, structure homogeneity of casting alloy.
