1st NetCastPL4.0 Course: Enhancing Research Capacity for impactful R&I Projects training course was designed to enhance the skills of scientific and administrative staff in research management while promoting gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. The program will equip participants with essential strategies for securing and managing funding, along with real examples of effective dissemination and outreach techniques to maximize the impact of Research & Innovation (R&I) projects. The ultimate goal was to provide attendees with practical insights and tools to navigate the complexities of research administration and make a lasting contribution to their field.
The first part of the training took place in Milan (Italy) on April 28-29, 2025. The speakers and the topics were:
Monica Favaro (CNR-ICMATE), Foundations of Research Management (Part 1):
- Understanding research management: roles, responsibilities, and best practices.
Lucio Pisacane (CNR-IRPPS), Melanie Timpel (CNR-IMEM), Working with a gender perspective in R&I: breaking barriers for a more inclusive science.
Monica Favaro (CNR-ICMATE), Foundations of Research Management (Part 2)
- Project planning and coordination: tools for effective research administration.
- Case studies and group activity: applying management principles to real- world scenarios.
The second part of the training took place online on May 08, 2025. The speakers and the topics were:
Valentina Tortelli (CNR-ITM), Securing Research Funding & Proposal Writing (Part 1)
- Horizon Europe and Other Funding Opportunities: Overview and Key Insights.
Libero Liggeri (CNR-ICMATE Genoa), MSCA-DN project: experience and tips from an ICMATE participant.
